"Cease-fire reached in Palestinian camp in Syria | Associated Press   June 23, 2014

BEIRUT — Various fighting factions and the Syrian government reached a cease-fire agreement in a besieged Palestinian refugee camp in Damascus, activists and state media said Sunday.

If it holds, the agreement in the Yarmouk, the largest of nine Palestinian camps in Syria, could help ease the suffering of some 18,000 civilians who have been trapped there since the government imposed a blockade in mid-2013.

Previous agreements to end the fighting in Yarmouk have all collapsed.

The official SANA news agency said the latest deal was sponsored by the Syrian government and the Palestine Liberation Organization. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported the cease-fire.

Under the agreement, heavy weapons would be removed from the camp, barriers taken down, and an internal force created to ensure security. The main entrances to the camp would be opened and infrastructure restored.

The Observatory said rebel groups in the camp, as well as pro- and anti-Assad Palestinian factions, are all party to the deal.

The UN agency that supports Palestinian refugees, known as UNRWA, expressed cautious optimism about the deal.

UNRWA has been delivering badly needed humanitarian aid to those inside Yarmouk and around the camp.

"Israeli jets hit 9 targets in Syria; Act after teen dies on Golan Heights" by Jodi Rudoren | New York Times   June 23, 2014

JERUSALEM — Israeli warplanes bombed nine targets inside Syria on Monday, including a military command center, in response to a cross-border attack that killed an Israeli teenager the previous day, the Israeli military said.

Which side of the border was the kid on?

Israel said direct hits were confirmed, the Associated Press reported. Information on any casualties was not available.

In addition to the Syrian military headquarters, Israel said it targeted unspecified ‘‘launching positions.’’ There was no immediate response from Syria.

Syria has to sit there and take it otherwise the war widens just as Israel and the Zionist neo-con globe-kickers want.

The teenager was killed and two men were wounded in Sunday’s attack on an Israeli defense contractor’s vehicle in the Golan Heights. It was the first fatality in Israel since Syria’s civil war started more than three years ago.

The identity of the dead youth, who officials said was 15, was not released, and it was unclear what he was doing in an Israeli water tanker operating near the fence along the disputed border. Some news reports suggested that, with school out for the summer, he had gone to work with his father, who was one of the two men wounded.

This is ALREADY STINKING! The vagaries and lack of information give it away.

The Israeli military responded immediately with tank fire on Syrian army positions, although a spokesman acknowledged he did not know whether the attack stemmed from Syria or from rebels who he said have “an extensive presence” in the area.

Oh, it could have come from the USraeli-backed terrorists?

“This was an intentional attack; this was not errant fire. They wanted to hit an Israeli vehicle,” the spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner, told reporters in a briefing about an hour after the 11:30 a.m. attack. “This is the most substantial incident we’ve had on the border with Syria since the beginning of the civil war.”

Lerner said he did not know whether an explosive device, rocket, mortar or tank fire was used in the attack but said that “it was fired directly from east to west” and that Israeli soldiers found a hole in the border fence.

The Golan Heights attack came hours after two Palestinian men were fatally shot in confrontations with Israeli troops in the West Bank, bringing to four the number of Palestinians killed in Israel’s aggressive crackdown after the June 12 abduction of three teenage yeshiva students.

And THERE YOU GO! It's DIVERT ATTENTION TIME!

A fifth Palestinian, who is 20, remained in critical condition in a Jerusalem hospital after being shot in the head Friday morning.

Although Israel’s arrest campaign has slowed significantly, with 10 people detained overnight compared with 80 a week earlier, the violence has escalated. A Palestinian who entered Israel from the Gaza Strip with a hand grenade was caught early Friday, after a week of nightly rocket fire from Gaza into Israel and Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.

And not much in my pre$$ about it.

Yeah, it sure as hell is and is why I doubt all this.

Also, for the first time on Friday clashes occurred between Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority security forces, whose coordination with Israel in the search for the missing students is the source of deep tension.

Witnesses reported that protesters smashed at least four Palestinian police cars in the West Bank city of Ramallah early Sunday. Palestinian news organizations said activists also raided a police station in the central Al Manara Square about 5:30 a.m. after Israeli troops left the city and the Palestinian police fired bullets in the air to disperse the crowds.

President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority has stated repeatedly in recent days that his security forces are helping in Israel’s search for the three students.

"Syria says Israeli air raid kills 4, damages military position" by Ryan Lucas | Associated Press   June 24, 2014

BEIRUT — The Syrian government said Monday a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting its troops in retaliation for a deadly cross-border attack killed four people and wounded nine others.

It said the attack was a ‘‘flagrant violation’’ of Syrian sovereignty, but in a departure from previous incidents when Israeli warplanes struck targets in Syria, the government did not vow retaliation.

I expect a UN Security Council meeting will be called and Israel condemned, right?

Israel’s prime minister on Monday warned the warring parties in Syria against any attempt to heat up tensions along the disputed frontier, hours after the Israeli air force carried out a string of airstrikes in Syria in response to the attack, which killed an Israeli teenager riding in a civilian vehicle.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would respond with even tougher force if there are further attacks.

‘‘Last night we operated with great force against Syrian targets that acted against us, and if needed we will use additional force,’’ he told members of his Likud party. ‘‘We will continue to forcefully hurt anyone who attacks us or tries to attack us.’’

Yeah, we all got the message. That is why Syria and everyone else is showing restraint. It's all $elf-inflicted bull$hit, folks, from the Lavon Affair to the USS Liberty to Shalit to now. It's all Israeli tricks!

The Israeli military said the air raids struck nine targets in Syria.

A statement issued by Syria’s Foreign Ministry said five Israeli warplanes carried out the raids, which were accompanied by mortar rounds and tank shells.

It said four people were killed and nine others wounded, adding that the attacks extensively damaged Syrian army positions and equipment. It did not provide further details.

The director of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdurrahman, said the Israeli strikes destroyed two tanks, two artillery batteries, and the headquarters of Syria’s 90th brigade.

The Observatory collects its information through a network of activists inside Syria.

The Israeli military said ‘‘direct hits were confirmed’’ on the targets, which were located near the site of Sunday’s violence in the Golan Heights and included a regional military command center and unspecified ‘‘launching positions.’’

Israel has closely observed the Syrian uprising since it began in March of 2011, although it has avoided backing either side.

Bullshit!

Oh, right, my new$paper is nothing but an Israeli pre$$ release.

On several occasions, artillery rounds have landed on the Israeli side of the de facto border, drawing limited Israeli reprisals.

And none of these false flags are fooling anyone anymore.

Israel also has carried out several airstrikes in Syria over the past three years, primarily targeting suspected weapons shipments allegedly destined for Hezbollah militants in neighboring Lebanon. In each of the cases, the Syrian government vowed retaliation but refrained from taking action.

So who is the aggressor in the region again?

The latest air raids, however, came after a civilian vehicle was struck by what the Israeli military said was a Kornet antitank missile fired from the Syria. The vehicle was in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights.

It is a civilian vehicle now, huh? Not a defense contractor vehicle.

A teenage Israeli boy was killed and two other people were wounded in what was the first deadly incident along the volatile frontier since the start of the Syrian civil war. Sunday’s incident occurred in the area of Tel Hazeka, near the Quneitra crossing.

Israeli police identified the boy as Mohammed Krakra, 14, of the Arab village of Arabeh in northern Israel. Local media said he had accompanied his father, the truck driver, to work.

OMG! The ISRAELI CITIZEN killed on the border was an ARAB! I wouldn't be surprised if he had been murdered by the Israeli military and dumped there! We all see how much Israel cares for its Arab population and neighbors.

It was not clear whether the attack was by government troops or rebels. But Israeli officials said suspicion was focused on Syria or its Hezbollah allies, since both are known to possess Kornet missiles.

Not where mine are!

"Israel says it must keep military on West Bank" by Dan Perry | Associated Press   June 30, 2014

TEL AVIV — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted Sunday that Israel would have to maintain a long-term military presence in the West Bank to keep a jihadi juggernaut from powering its way to the outskirts of Tel Aviv.

So when are they going to take Baghdad because I was told they were rolling there weeks ago!

Netanyahu also called for the establishment of an independent Kurdistan as part of a broader alliance with moderate forces across the region.

Yeah, he's all for the breakup of Iraq into pieces and continued use of Kurdistan as a Mossad base -- all down on paper in A Clean Break

Makes you really wonder about the true roots of ISIS, huh? Islamic fundamentalists always advancing Israel's agenda? Hmmmmmm. Stink.

Netanyahu laid out his positions in a policy speech that marked one of the most detailed responses by a world leader to the lightning territorial gains made in recent weeks by Sunni extremists fighting in Iraq, and it underscored how profoundly events can ripple across an increasingly interlocked Middle East.

And when you consider that my newspaper is nothing but an Israeli pre$$ release, this makes sense.

There was no immediate reaction from Iraq or the United States. The international community, including neighboring Turkey as well as the United States and other Western countries, opposes the breakup of Iraq.

Netanyahu suggested that the territorial gains made this month by the Al Qaeda-inspired jihadi group called the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria could endanger neighboring Jordan, with which Israel has a peace agreement it considers vital to its security.

Then the USrael will just have to occupy Jordan, right?

RelatedJordan fears expanding home-grown ISIS could take action

Terrorists are loose in Jordan!

The group has recently captured wide swaths of Iraq including the important cities of Mosul and Tikrit and several border crossings with Syria, and on Sunday formally declared a caliphate, or an Islam-ruled state, on territory it controls in both countries.

And thus weakening Iran and Syria.

The offensive by the Islamic State’s militants ‘‘can be aimed toward Jordan in the shortest time,’’ Netanyahu warned. Without stating outright that the Western-leaning Jordanian monarchy could fall, Netanyahu suggested as much by saying that the new developments meant a need for Israel to hold on to the West Bank border with the Hashemite kingdom, along the Jordan River.

‘‘We must be able to stop the terrorism and fundamentalism that can reach us from the east at the Jordan line, and not in the suburbs of Tel Aviv,’’ he said, implying radicals could sweep from Jordan through the West Bank, whose borders reach within 20 miles of Tel Aviv.

Wow!

The hysterical hyperbole is a sight to behold!

"Three abducted Israeli teenagers found dead" by Jodi Rudoren and Isabel Kershner | New York Times   July 01, 2014

JERUSALEM — Israeli searchers on Monday found the bodies of three missing Israeli teenagers who were abducted more than two weeks ago in the occupied West Bank, the government of Israel said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened an emergency Cabinet meeting as calls for a tough response escalated. The meeting ended after midnight without any decision reached, and discussions will resume Tuesday.

“With very heavy sorrow we found three bodies this evening and all the signs point to them being the bodies of our three kidnapped youths,” Netanyahu said.

Early Tuesday, Israel carried out an especially intense series of airstrikes in Gaza, saying it had struck 34 targets across the Hamas-controlled territory, according to the Associated Press. The military said the airstrikes were a response to a barrage of 18 rockets fired into Israel since late Sunday.

The kids were allegedly killed in the West Bank, so WTF? They bomb Gaza instead?

Israeli forces will ‘‘continue to act in order to restore the peaceful living to the civilians of the state of Israel. The Hamas terror organization and its extensions are solely responsible for any terror activities emanating from the Gaza Strip,’’ said Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner, a senior spokesman for the Israeli military.

Related: The Gaza Rocket Squads

Who is firing off those rockets again?

There were no further details on the targets, but in recent weeks Israel has repeatedly targeted launch sites and weapons storage areas in similar attacks. There were no immediate reports of casualties, the AP reported.

Earlier, Lerner said the three bodies were found at 5 p.m. “under a pile of rocks in an open field” between Halhul and Beit Kahil, two Palestinian towns near Hebron.

In an area the IDF controls!

"In other words, the bodies were placed in a manner meant to draw attention and be foundThe quickest way to detect a government lie is to look for what should be there and isn't, and what isn't there is a REASON for HAMAS to do something that stupid at this particular time. HAMAS and FATAH formed a unity government. They need the support of the world right now, and neither HAMAS or FATAH is going to carry out an act that would wreck the very public support they need. It's like George Washington trying to kick out the British by shooting students in the colonial schools; it is just not going to happen. Netanyahu, of course, is adamantly opposed to the unity government and stated he would find some way to wreck it. It appears he has done just that. Keep in mind Israel's history. In both the Lavon affair and the attack on the USS Liberty, Israel carried out attacks then tried to frame Egypt for them, to trick the US into ending political relations and possibly launching war. In these two cases, Israel's deception became known, but one may presume that where one Israeli deception is found, there are likely dozens more they got away with. This stunt with the three teens appears to be more of the same. Kidnapping and killing these kids does not help HAMAS, but clearly helped Netanyahu by creating the excuse for him to launch outright war on Gaza.

"By way of deception, thou shalt do war" -- Motto of the Mossad

Fool me once..."--whatreallyhappened

I'll go him one better: it is my firm believe that this is a complete hoax. There was no kidnapping, no dead kids, just another staged and scripted piece of propaganda from the Jewish War Media. Seen way too much of it, from terror attacks to shootings. At best it is a false flag, and is that really better?

The location was an area that thousands of soldiers had been scouring for more than a week. The bodies “are being transferred for forensic identification,” Lerner said. “We have informed the families that we found the bodies.”

The disappearances set off an uproar in Israel and further strained relations between the Israelis and the Palestinian Authority, even though it had deployed its own security forces to help with the search.

And drew a yawn from the rest of the world. Israel kills more than three Palestinians every week.

The Palestinian Authority had just taken steps to form a unity government backed by Hamas, the militant group that controls the Gaza Strip. Israeli officials, who have rejected that government, have identified as prime suspects two Palestinians from Hebron that they say are affiliated with Hamas.

Yeah, and Israel didn't want that! Then we get this? STINK!

Hamas did not take responsibility, but praised the abductions and bitterly criticized the Palestinian Authority for cooperating in the search.

I'm seeing another mistranslation by my Jewi$h pre$$.

At one point, Palestinians smashed several of the authority’s police cars and stormed its police station in the central square of Ramallah, where it is based.

The intensity and scope of the Israeli security operation to find the missing teenagers was the biggest in the West Bank in more than a decade, and has left at least five Palestinians dead.

That leaves 295 more Palestinians that must be sacrificed for Israel's bloodlust.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, a spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority, said that Abbas had called an emergency meeting of the Palestinian leadership to assess the consequences of the latest developments.

Lerner said he could not confirm that the victims had been shot, though a senior Israeli official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said they had been, most likely shortly after the abduction.

In Hebron, Israeli soldiers returned Monday night to the home of Israel’s two prime suspects in the kidnapping, Marwan Qawasmeh and Amer Abu Aisha.

As word spread that the military might demolish the homes, about 100 Palestinians gathered, some throwing stones at the soldiers, who fired at least six tear-gas canisters to disperse the crowd and blocked the roads around the two houses.

Israeli television reports said the bodies had been discovered by volunteers, guides from the Kfar Etzion Field School. The television accounts said the bodies had been partly covered and appeared to have been dumped hurriedly, probably soon after the abduction.

The three teenagers — Eyal Yifrach, 19; Gilad Shaar, 16; and Naftali Fraenkel, 16, who also holds US citizenship — were last seen entering a car about 10 p.m. June 12 at a hitchhiking stop in the Gush Etzion settlement block, not far from the area where the bodies were found.

One of the abducted youths placed an emergency call to the police and whispered that he had been kidnapped, but the police initially thought it was a prank call. The search only started hours later when some of the parents reported their sons missing.

This whole thing is a prank, and it's not funny!

Nor is the censorship:

"At 8pm on Monday, dozens of military and police vehicles had completely blocked off the north entrance to Halhul, a Palestinian city next to Hebron and the Jewish settlement Karmei Tzur. Inside Halhul, police convoys were operating and scores of troops were visible. But there were practically no cars on Road 60, the main artery south from Jerusalem to Hebron - the road on which the teenagers would have hitchhiked toward home.

In parallel to the search, the Israeli military conducted an aggressive campaign of arrests and raids aimed at weakening the infrastructure of Hamas in the West Bank."

And they also bombed Gaza!

I was also told  Israel's right-wing deputy defence minister, issued a statement promising that the government would "not stop until Hamas is completely defeated. We must ensure that this tragic end be turned into an opportunity to create a better and safer Israel," and called for the demolition of "homes of the terrorists."

Looks like John Kerry has thrown in the towel, too.

"US envoy in Mideast stepping down" New York Times   June 28, 2014

WASHINGTON — The State Department said Friday that Martin S. Indyk, who led the yearlong US effort to revive Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations, was resigning from his position as special envoy.

Indyk, a US ambassador to Israel in the Clinton administration, was named special envoy in July, as Secretary of State John Kerry was preparing for a resumption of peace talks after a three-year suspension.

Related: Washington Institute for Near East Policy

After a brokered cease-fire between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas in late 2012 and a series of prisoner swaps in early 2013, the Israelis and Palestinians agreed to negotiate a framework for a peace plan, an initial step toward a revival of full negotiations.

Those efforts broke down in April, however, after Israel halted the release of some Palestinian prisoners and as Palestinian leaders formally applied for membership in 15 international conventions and treaties, despite their promise to pause such efforts while a framework was being worked out.

The resignation of Indyk, an experienced hand in Middle East policy, was the latest sign that the Obama administration’s hopes for the peace process have faded, although the State Department said he would continue to advise Kerry after returning to the Brookings Institution as its foreign policy director.

“Ambassador Indyk has invested decades of his extraordinary career to the mission of helping Israelis and Palestinians achieve a lasting peace,” Kerry said in a written statement.

I guess these forgotten guys can forget a release:

"Palestinian prisoners in Israel end hunger strike" Associated Press   June 26, 2014

JERUSALEM — Dozens of Palestinian prisoners ended their 63-day-long hunger strike Wednesday after reaching a deal with Israeli prison authorities, a Palestinian official said.

The development comes against the backdrop of a broad Israeli ground operation in the West Bank in search of three Israeli teens who went missing in the Palestinian territory nearly two weeks ago. There have also been near-daily rocket attacks from Gaza, prompting Israeli airstrikes in retaliation.

Earlier Wednesday, a rocket fired by Palestinian militants toward Israel exploded in the northern Gaza Strip, killing a 3-year-old Palestinian girl and wounding three other people, a Gaza health official said.

A Gaza security official said the militants’ rocket exploded prematurely inside the coastal strip. Both Palestinian officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to media.

Since 2012, Palestinian prisoners have staged a series of hunger strikes, sometimes as individuals and sometimes in larger groups to protest ‘‘administrative detention,’’ a policy that can keep some prisoners in custody for months without charges.

Israel has defended the practice as a necessary tool to stop militant activity.

About 5,000 Palestinians are imprisoned for offenses ranging from rock throwing to deadly militant attacks. Of those, some 190 are administrative detainees, while another 143 Palestinians detained in recent raids have also been held under the policy.

The latest hunger strike was launched April 24 and involved 77 prisoners, according to Qadoura Fares, an advocate for Palestinian prisoners. It ended after the deal was struck with Israel Prisons Authority, said Minister of Prisoner Affairs Shawqi Al-Aissa.

Fares said the agreement ‘‘states that the prisoners stay in hospital until they recover, and then they will be taken to the prisons they were in before the strike while Israel ends punitive measures against them.’’

NEXT DAY UPDATE:

"Israel pounds Gaza as teenagers are mourned; Netanyahu vows consequences, says ‘Hamas will pay’" by Ruth Eglash | Washington Post   July 02, 2014

JERUSALEM — Tens of thousands of Israelis gathered Tuesday for a funeral service for three teenagers whose bodies were found Monday, more than two weeks after they disappeared in a kidnapping that Israel says was carried out by the militant Islamist group Hamas.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeated his vows to punish the Palestinian group, which runs the Gaza Strip and has denied involvement in the June 12 abduction and subsequent killings. He summoned his security Cabinet Tuesday night to discuss Israel’s response, hours after Israeli aircraft pounded dozens of targets in Gaza.

Speaking a day after the teens’ bodies were discovered in a field near the West Bank city of Hebron, Netanyahu pledged that everyone involved in the crime ‘‘will bear the consequences.’’ He said Israeli forces, which have arrested nearly 400 alleged terror operatives and killed at least five Palestinians during a more than two-week search, would ‘‘vigorously strike at Hamas members and infrastructure’’ in Gaza and the Israeli-occupied West Bank. ‘‘If need be, we will expand the campaign,’’ he warned.

‘‘Hamas is responsible,’’ the prime minister said at the start the meeting. ‘‘Hamas will pay, and Hamas will continue to pay.’’

Okay, we have all been warned more war crimes are on the way. It's obvious Palestinian lives do not mean as much as a Jewish fingernail, as a Zionist once said, but beyond that I'm shocked at the lack of the alleged Jewish compassion and serenity I've seen and heard so much about. This guy is just raving in what was obviously a response to the unity government idea and the break-off of its EUS stooges on the issue.

Netanyahu faced renewed pressure Tuesday to avenge the teens’ death, including from his hard-line foreign minister, who called for a ground invasion in Gaza.

Then they are no better than those they condemn, and once again the agenda behind the false-flagging fraud.

But those calls were relatively muted as Israelis focused on mourning the teens, whose deaths sparked a nationwide outpouring of outrage and grief.

Naftali Fraenkel, 16, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Eyal Yifrach, 19, disappeared while making their way home from their religious schools in the tense West Bank. Fraenkel was a dual US-Israeli citizen. The three were buried together in a cemetery in the city of Modiin, halfway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, in a service at which Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres spoke.

I not it only for the fact that no big deal was made of that Turkish-US national that Israeli pirates murdered on the Gaza aid boat years back. That whole thing has sailed down the memory hole of my ma$$ media, of course.

‘‘We prayed, each of us alone and all of us together, for a miracle,’’ Peres said. ‘‘Sadly we were hit by the tragedy of their murder, and a deep grief enveloped our people.’’

(Cue the somber violin music)

Earlier in the day, the teens’ families held separate eulogies in their home communities and then accompanied the bodies to the public funeral, which thousands of Israelis streamed to in shuttles. In Nof Ayalon, the small town where Fraenkel lived with his family, his father, Avraham, spoke through tears.

In other words, it was a major production(!).

I mean, I'm trying to take the kid at face value here, but....

‘‘Even though you are not here in body with us, you will be with us all the time,’’ he said. ‘‘Naftali, Gilad, Eyal, you were killed for being Jews, that was the only reason you were killed.’’

Yeah, we know. Your losses, your plight, tops everyone else. Next.

The Israeli police released a recording Tuesday of Gilad Shaar’s call to emergency services, which appeared to have been made minutes after he and the other two teens got into their kidnappers’ car.

On the recording, which emergency authorities initially dismissed as a prank, Shaar says, ‘‘I’ve been kidnapped.’’

I think we are all being fooled.

An operator says, ‘‘Hello?,’’ before a voice speaking Arabic-accented Hebrew says, ‘‘Keep your heads down.’’ As an Israeli radio station broadcasts the voice of a politician in the background, there are sounds of struggle. The operator then repeatedly says, ‘‘Hello?’’

Some media outlets in Israel reported that gunshots can be heard — suggesting the teens were killed in the car — but Israeli police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld said security agencies that assessed the recording made no such conclusion.

I have the handout right here in front of me.

Rosenfeld said the discovery over the weekend of a pair of glasses belonging to one of the teens helped authorities to narrow the search.

(Blog editor started laughing there, sorry)

The Israeli military pressed on Tuesday with its largest and most aggressive security sweep in the West Bank in decades, searching for two suspects it says carried out the abduction and murders.

As it once again pummels Gaza.

Israeli officials have said the suspects, Marwan Kawasmeh, 29, and Amer Abu Aysha, 33, are both operatives of Hamas, which is considered a terrorist organization by Israel, the United States, and the European Union.

On Tuesday, the Israeli military blew up the entrances to and raided the homes of the two men, who have not been seen since the night the teenagers went missing.

Israeli authorities have said both have spent time in Israeli prisons.

They let 'em out, then fill up the jails again.

Overnight, a military spokesman said, soldiers made three additional arrests in the West Bank; Palestinian media reported that a 16-year-old was killed during the raid.

But let's not hover on that young boy's death. He's just a Palestinian teenager.

Earlier, the Israeli air force carried out what it called a ‘‘precision strike’’ against 34 Hamas targets in Gaza. The army said more than 20 rockets were fired into Israel from Gaza since late Sunday, with another barrage reported Tuesday evening.

The incident has inflamed tensions between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which is based in and controls about 10 percent of the West Bank.

Meaning Israel controls 90%!!!??!!!

Netanyahu has criticized Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ recent move to form a transitional Palestinian unity government backed by Hamas.

And then all this happened?

STINKOLA!

Palestinian officials, meanwhile, have condemned Israel for carrying out what they say is ‘‘collective punishment’’ against hundreds of Palestinians.

It is, and I expect a U.N. Security Council session and resolution any second now.
